Heather Cottage, Happisburgh, Norfolk

Property Description

The Property

Heather Cottage is a pretty cottage, nestled in the middle of the popular village of Happisburgh, set well back from the coastline but still within easy walking distance of the beach and the local pub.

The main living accommodation downstairs is very flexible, there is an open plan arrangement of kitchen, dining room and living room space; however each room can be separated by closing either or both sets of dividing double doors. This way you can create both private and open spaces to enjoy with the whole family. The living room boasts a wood burning stove and the floors are tiled with clever floor tiles which have the appearance of a hardwood floor. There is a downstairs loo tucked away in the entrance hall and French doors out to the rear garden from the dining space.

Upstairs there are two double bedrooms, both overlooking the rear garden and a single bedroom overlooking the front of the cottage, all accessed from the landing and a well appointed shower room.

Heather is a modern cottage with a cosy feel, very light and welcoming and with a real feeling of home.

There is off road parking to the rear of the cottage and a pretty, enclosed garden with space to dine and BBQ outside in the summer months.

We would love to come back!"

The Location

Heather Cottage is not only a hop and skip from the local dog friendly pub, The Hill House, but a lovely stroll to the dog friendly, sandy beach and plenty of easy, livestock free countryside walks.

In Happisburgh you can also enjoy the best fresh fish shop for miles around, a funky little burger caravan in the summer months, a cafe attached to the pub and yet another cafe – Smallsticks – along the cliffs at Cart Gap. On certain weekends you can climb up the iconic striped lighthouse or up the church tower – with some incredible views out to sea and inland.

If you like history, it is here in spades (or bones!)- some of the most ancient human settlements finds have been made on the beach – so many hand axes have been found it is almost boring! And if not prehistoric tools, then witches stones, sea glass, shells – all there to find on a wander on the beach with the dogs.

The village is full of some beautiful old buildings and a lot of history… plus plenty of peace and quiet.

For children there is a great play area with a zip wire just above the beach and a big grass playing field well away from any traffic.*

Happisburgh itself is home to an iconic lighthouse and is located on the Eastern side of the North Norfolk coast. It is close to Stalham and the gateway to the broads and within easy driving distance of the bustling City of Norwich with high-speed train links to Cambridge and London and boasting an international airport.
