To the rear of the cottage there is an enclosed courtyard immediately outside the door and a further enclosed garden outside the gate.  There is a path running to the rear of all the cottages that is used to access the back of each cottage and divides the courtyards and gardens.

The Coast Hopper bus stops outside the entrance to the bird reserve, close to the cottage, and runs regularly during the summer months between Hunstanton and Cromer.
