The Property
"Poplar Farm Cottage" is a charming two-bedroom property located in the sleepy village of Baconsthorpe. The cottage is immaculately presented with an abundance of period features such as exposed beams, wooden flooring, and a traditional wood-burning stove. The cottage also benefits from a good size walled garden, with mature shrubs and plants and steps up to a pretty courtyard seating area directly outside the kitchen.
Entering the cottage through the back door from the courtyard, you are welcomed into the cosy open-plan living space. The kitchen has built-in units top and bottom, with traditional wooden worktops, a single fan assisted oven with a four ring ceramic hob and room for a washing machine and an under-counter fridge. The dining area can comfortably accommodate a table for four and the sitting room has pretty traditional features, such as an inglenook fireplace with a wood-burning stove and beam above. This room is perfect for the colder winter months cosying up in front of a fire. There is also a useful storage cupboard under the stairs with plenty of room for coats and shoes.
The traditional staircase leads up from the sitting to the first floor landing, with two bedrooms and a family bathroom.
The principal bedroom features wooden floors, a window to the front and room for a double bed and a chest of drawers.
The second bedroom can accommodate a trundle bed and has a window looking out to the rear.
The bathroom is located off the landing and has a roll-topped bath with an overhead shower, loo and hand wash basin.
The property is available as a turnkey, complete with all the furniture and fittings (barring some personal items) by separate negotiation.
Outside
There is on-street parking immediately outside the front of the cottage.
The garden is fully enclosed and part laid to grass and has mature plants & shrubs. The terrace outside the kitchen provides the perfect area for al-fresco dining in the summer months and there is also a useful brick built outbuilding for storage of garden furniture.
